Perlite
7.99 €Perlite is a dry mineral material with a granular and highly porous texture that will improve the drainage of your substrate and its capacity to retain water.
It is specially recommended for hydroponic crops of all kinds, both recirculating and drain-to-waste hydroponic crops, since it is completely inert, sterile and has a neutral pH. At the same time, its high porosity gives it the lightness necessary for comfortable handling with this type of crop.
Meliflor Tip
In hydroponic crops: Fill the container with Meliflor perlite, leaving around 3 cm of space up to the brim. You can also mix it with other inert and granular materials such as expanded clay, or with fibres such as coco coir.
For improving substrates and soils: Mix the Meliflor perlite with your chosen substrate in the desired ratio and plant your vegetables as you usually would.

Did you know...
Perlite is used in the creation of many substrates, since it improves their quality. It is a volcanic mineral that, upon being subjected to high temperatures (800-900ºC), expands to up to 20 times its initial volume.
Its structure is made up of multiple holes and pores that allow it to retain up to five times its weight in water. For the same reason, it’s easy to combine it with liquid fertilisers, fungicides or other liquid applications.
The aeration provided by perlite in substrates is essential for roots and has a very beneficial effect on the subsequent development of the plants, preventing the substrate from clumping over time.
