Pumice for Bonsai

14.94

Pumice is a natural stone of volcanic origin that is highly porous, lightweight, and has a great water retention capacity. This stone, with a granulometry value of between 3 and 6 mm, is what makes up our Meliflor bags of pumice substrate for bonsai.

Meliflor Tip

Incorporate this pumice into your substrate for bonsai to enhance its quality, but first prepare the substrate so that it is in optimum condition by eliminating the fine dust the bag may contain. Do so by sieving and washing with water multiple times.

Meliflor Tip

Did you know...

The high porosity of Meliflor pumice for bonsai provides the substrate with great ventilation and improves its water drainage capacity.

It also helps the retention of nutrients and water, offers good fixation, and encourages the development of roots.

What’s more, by using pumice in your bonsai, you will avoid the contraction and expansion of the substrate, which can sometimes cause root suffocation in conventional substrates.
